Bryant’s name has been associated with numerous scandals related to Alabama, including when the Board of Trustees voted to shutter the football program at UAB. Bryant currently sits on the Alabama Board of Trustees and is the school’s most prominent booster.

A large cause of Georgia’s recent success has been Smart’s recruiting prowess, as Georgia has compiled a top five recruiting class each of the last five years, including the top-rated classes in 20. The media storm surrounding both stories would cause Propst to leave Alabama in disgrace. Around the time of his dismissal from Hoover, the rumors about Propst personal life would prove true, as he would admit to an extramarital affair and fathering a child out of wedlock with his mistress. Months later Propst would lose his job at Hoover after an investigation determined that numerous player’s grades were altered to meet college eligibility requirements. Rumors about Propst’s personal life however would cost him any opportunity to coach at Alabama. Propst was hailed by many as the best high school coach in the country and was even rumored for a job on Nick Saban’s first staff at Alabama. Propst became a household name in 2006, when Hoover High School was featured on the MTV show Two-A-Days. Propst is an embattled high school football coach, who has won over 300 games and a combined seven state championships throughout his career in Alabama and Georgia. Much like the plot of Two-A-Days, Propst’s allegations blur the line between fiction and reality and could foreshadow dark days to come for college football in the South. Fate would have other plans, as the fiery prick we all loved to hate in 20 apparently has another story to tell. After Hoover’s former defensive coordinator was fired from the head coaching position at Tennessee in January, it seemed that the legacy of Two-A-Days would finally go the way of Rush Propst’s tenure at Hoover High. Despite being an insignificant reality show canceled after just two seasons, for some reason or another Two-A-Days continues to rear its ugly head in major college football.
